「Future Lovers」はマドンナの2005年の大ヒットアルバム「Confessions on a Dancefloor」に収録されており、The Confessions Tourではツアーのオープニングを飾り、ドナ・サマーの「I Feel Love」とのマッシュアップで披露しています。

全体的に非常に詩的な歌詞ですが、全体で愛の複雑さ、そして未来を信じることの美しさがテーマとして描かれています。

何度もリフレインする「In the evidence of its brilliance」は直訳すると「その輝きの証拠として」となり、「brilliance」も「輝き」という意味が一般的ではありますが、全体的なテーマが”愛”であることを考慮して、分かりやすく「素晴らしさ」と表現しております。

他、「Connect to the sky」も直訳では「空につながる」となるものの、詩的な表現では空＝広がりや自由、限りない可能性を象徴することもあります。そのためここでは「広がる自由」と表現しました。
